🌼 Food, drink, sanitary packs, PLUS free haircuts were provided to members of our Homeless Community during one of our recent Homeless outreach programs in Sydney.

A huge thank you to the staff and students from @unitygrammar, for their excellent contribution towards the program.

A special mention to the number of champion barbers who turned up and provided the free haircuts to community members in need.

🌼 Students and staff from @sunnah_life_academy, joined us on our School Programs Initiative at the Brothers In Need/Project Quran Centre.

They were kind enough to assist with the packing of food, drink and sanitary items for our Homeless outreach program. In addition, they also organised a number of Islamic content as part of the Project Quran catalogue.

We would like to thank Sunnah Life Academy for their generosity, and we look forward to hosting them again in the near future, Insha'Allah.

We are honored to present Sr Mariam Ardati who will be giving a 2 part talk and practical segment on what to do when a Muslim dies.

Tea talk is a small fortnightly gathering for like minded women to listen to a talk with a Q&A about various topics pertaining to females

🌼 Our friends at @mytomra_aus & @returnandearnnsw have opened up a recycling centre in Lakemba, and we encourage the local community to do their part for the environment and give it a visit!

You can find the Lakemba Return and Earn Centre at 82 Yerrick Road, Lakemba.

All containers collected in the Return And Earn scheme are recycled – so the benefits of our involvement in this scheme are tangible both in terms of fundraising and protecting the environment.

You can contribute 10 cents per bottle/can towards our cause!

🌼 5pm: Soup Kitchen kicked off at @theculinaryschool in Punchbowl.
8pm: The freshly cooked meals were distributed to our Homeless community
members at Martin Place.

Once again, amazing work by our team of volunteers at the Soup Kitchen!

Our Soup Kitchen is held 3 times per month. The initiative sees our regular volunteers combine with other members of the community who generously give of their time several nights a month to ‘cook up a storm’ for the less fortunate members of the community including the homeless, the unemployed and others who are in other ways financially disadvantaged.

✨ Introducing - The Mobile Food Pantry ✨

🌟 Brothers In Need has been delivering food hampers and hot food packs to financially disadvantaged and vulnerable people since 2015. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been significant financial and social impacts on people from various diverse communities, resulting in higher unemployment rates, a greater risk of poverty, and a greater reliance on welfare assistance to cover basic needs such as food and shelter.

The main objective of the Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) will be to provide discounted perishable and nonperishable food items to those most vulnerable to food insecurity, including low income families, people who are unemployed, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, frail elderly people, and people at risk of homelessness.

For a $10 contribution, eligible low-income people with a pension, Centrelink or immigration card are able to take home a shopping bag full of food worth close to $60.

The low-cost food has been sourced through regular food drives and donations.

Some of the benefits of watermelon include; It has a very high water content and provides nutrients like lycopene, citrulline, and vitamins A and C.

Studies suggest that this sweet, red melon may even boost heart health, reduce muscle soreness, and decrease inflammation, though more research is needed.

We were delighted to have been joined by our friends at @salesforceorg, during our latest Soup Kitchen initiative.

120 dishes of penne bolognese and apricot flavoured cupcakes were cooked by the team.

The meals were distributed to community members in need, ranging from refugees, people with special needs, widows and the financially disadvantaged.

Allhamdulliah, due to your support, we are now able to hold our Soup Kicten 3 timers per month!

Today, we had the students and staff from @bankstowngirlshigh attend our Respite Program at @my_home_disability_services.

We engaged in a number of fun filled activities from organising jigsaw puzzles to crafting bracelets.

Thank you to Bankstown Girls High for bringing the cheer to the residents at My Home Disability Services.

We are very proud of our Respite Program, where once a month we visit our friends at the My Home Disability Services Centre 💫💫💫.
